My name is Korry Franke.
I'm a husband, a father, and a major airline captain. I'm the author of 3 Feet to the Left and an optimistic storyteller. And more than anything, I'm a journeyer. I'm a seeker of side roads and scenic routes. And I'm building a community of journeyers, a community of dreamers and achievers, who seek richness as well as riches as we travel together from first step to fulfillment.
By combining my nearly 5 years of airline captain leadership experience, including 2 years as United’s youngest captain, with the creativity I’ve honed as an accomplished jazz pianist, the discipline I’ve developed as a two-time marathoner, and the business acumen I’ve gained as a Penn State MBA graduate with honors, I’ve developed a series of dynamic keynotes and workshops where I unpack easy-to-understand and easy-to-implement frameworks that:
Help college students and young leaders define direction and accelerate achievement in their careers;
Provide new leaders with tools and techniques that maximize their leadership effectiveness from Day One in a new role, even when the pressure is on;
Guide organizations and individuals to embrace moments of personal or corporate crisis and to view them as challenges that catapult performance, not simply obstacles to overcome.
When I’m not focused on being a master storyteller who inspires people to embrace life’s journey of constant reinvention, I’m likely hiking or attending the theatre with my wife, Jennifer, reading books to my young daughter, Reagan, throwing the ball for my energetic vizsla, Jackson, or volunteering my time with charities such as United We Care, where I’ve served as one of the employee relief fund’s grant panelists since 2014.
